Important Sailing Information
Q: HOW DO I GET TO CAMDEN?
A: If you drive, take I-95 north from the Boston area to Exit
44-I-295. Take I-295 to Exit 28-- Bath Brunswick, Rte. 1. This coastal
route will take you to Camden. Drive time is about 4 hours. We provide
free parking. An alternate inland Route avoids heavy seasonal Rte. 1
traffic: I-295 north to exit 49--Gardiner/Randolph. Take Rte. 201 to
Gardiner; cross Kennebec River bridge to Randolph; take Route 226 to
Route 17 east to Route 90, West Rockport. Go east on 90 to US Route
1, Rockport, and take US Route 1 north to Camden. (Map

There are commuter airline flights from Boston
to Knox County Airport, Rockland, a town 8 miles south of Camden.
Cab service is available from the airport. |

Q: WHEN DO I PAY THE BALANCE OF THE FARE?
A: We collect the balance of the fare at 4 weeks prior to sailing.
Mail us your personal check or call us toll free and charge the balance
on your VISA or MasterCard.
Q: WHAT SHOULD I BRING FOR SEASICKNESS?
A: Don't worry about it. The even-keeled steadiness of the Angelique,
combined with the protected waters we cruise, make the possibility of
experiencing any discomfort from seasickness remote. Still not convinced?
Bring along some Dramamine.
Q: DO WE DRESS FOR DINNER?
A: Absolutely not. Life aboard the Angelique is relaxed, informal,
and casual. You'll he spending most of your time in jeans, shorts, or
a bathing suit. When you're packing remember to bring comfortable clothing
(blankets, linen, and towels are supplied). You 'll find fashion unimportant
on a windjammer. Here's a list of clothes and gear you may want to bring:
sneakers, slacks, shorts, t-shirts, parka or heavy coat, sweater or
sweatshirt, hat for the sun, sun block, rain gear, bathing suit, binoculars,
fishing pole, camera, film, sunglasses, sketch pad, - and be sure to
bring any medications you may need.
Q: CAN I STAY ABOARD THE NIGHT BEFORE WE SAIL?
A: You're welcome anytime after 5:00 pm THE DAY PRIOR TO SAILING.
Your cabin will be ready for you, and breakfast will be served before
sailing.
Q: ARE THERE SHOWERS?
A: YES! Three showers with hot and cold fresh water: two are
located below deck and one on deck (for rinsing off after a swim). Not
as roomy as the one at home, but you get just as clean.
Q: ARE THERE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS?
A: No .Angelique's electrical system is 12 volt. Household current
is 110.
Q: WHERE WILL WE BE GOING?
A: Since we are a windjammer, which means we use the wind to
move us, our itinerary during the cruise is determined by the wind and
tide. We leave the dock in Camden on the morning tide and return at
cruise end on the tide.The rest of the cruise is spent where the sailing
is best during the day and in a snug harbor at night.
Q: CAN WE GET OFF THE BOAT TO GO FOR A WALK AND ENJOY THE SIGHTS?
A: Yes. We make every effort to sail to spots where you can
go for a hike or stroll. Some evenings are spent at secluded anchorages
where getting ashore can be difficult, but provide a good opportunity
to explore from one of our rowboats.
Q: CAN I GET A MAP THAT WILL SHOW THE AREA WE WILL SAIL IN?
A: Several stores in Camden carry charts (only a landlubber
calls it a map) of this area. You'll have time to purchase these prior
to sailing.
Q: NOW THAT I HAVE A CHART WILL SOMEONE SHOW ME HOW TO NAVIGATE?
A: The captain will be happy to show you how to pilot a course
and locate the Angelique's position. Don't be afraid to ask questions
of the crew. They are all anxious to make your trip an enjoyable one.
Q: I REALLY WANT TO LEARN TO SAIL. WILL I BE ABLE TO LEND A HAND?
A: You can do as much or as little as you like. Whether you
want to help hoist the sails, crank up the anchor, scrub the decks or
just sit in the sun and relax, you'll find Angelique just what you're
looking for.
Q: AM I ALLOWED TO BRING BOOZE?
A: Of course. However, excessive drinking is strictly forbidden.
We do not serve liquor, so you'll have to bring your own. The same is
true of beer and soft drinks. All this can be purchased in Camden and
stowed in our ice box.
Q: IS SMOKING PERMITTED ABOARD ANGELIQUE?
A: You can smoke only on the lee side (the side sheltered from
the wind) of the main deck. No smoking is allowed in the deckhouse or
below deck.
Q: I'M GOING TO SPEND A FEW DAYS IN CAMDEN AFTER THE CRUISE.
CAN YOU SUGGEST A PLACE TO STAY?
A: There are a number of nice Hotels, Motels, and Bed &
Breakfasts in town- The Camden Chamber of Commerce will he happy lo

Q: ONCE I GET TO CAMDEN, HOW DO I FIND THE ANGELIQUE?
A: Stay on Route 1 through downtown Camden. Take a right onto
Atlantic Avenue. You'll see us tied to Library Park at the head of the
harbor on your right. Park on the street until you get checked in aboard
Angelique.
